Our Savannah Getaway!

I promised I would talk about Savannah this week and share all my photos so that’s is exactly what I will do! I had to sort through the massive amount of spanish moss photos to find the handful that I thought were the best. I just love spanish moss. And I loved everything about Savannah. It was such a fun city!! Everyone was so friendly and of course the food was on point. Not to mention the absolutely gorgeous scenery. I think my favorite part was all of the squares at almost every block. Every square was like it’s own little garden or sanctuary with usually some kind of historical monument or history behind it.

We did a culinary tour which was really awesome because we got to eat at most of the local spots (even a hole in the wall BBQ joint) and we also got a little history lesson as well. I tried to take pictures of the food at each spot but it was really tough.. It might have something to do with the fact that I kept forgetting. And because I didn’t really want to tell the whole group to wait to eat the delicious food so I could snap a few pics.. so I got like 1 picture. But hopefully the other ones make up for it.

This was our first stop on the tour, Smith Brother’s Butcher Shop. This was not the kind of butcher shop I’m used to seeing. It was super cute and had a huge selection of meats and cheeses as well as wine and other local gifts. We really liked this place and returned here after the tour was over to enjoy a bottle of red.

We pondered our evening plans on the town over a delicious bottle of Pinot..

This place was called Cafe M and was the cutest little French cafe! We sat outside and I enjoyed a croissant with peanut butter and honey with a Cappuccino. Because you have to in a French cafe.

Another super cute cafe with a super cute name – Mirabelle. I’m sure that means something in another language but it just sounds really cute. This place specialized in different belgian waffle creations not to mention the quant atmosphere. Loved everything about it! Really wish I could’ve taken pictures of the waffles but again, didn’t want to keep people from their food.

And this awesome little hole in the wall BBQ spot! And more pictures of the back of Nathan’s head. Hey I’m no photographer.. so don’t judge. We had to go down a kind of sketchy alley way to get to this place (hence the bars on the windows) so you know it’s good! Only locals know about it apparently. The cutest little old lady runs the place.

Apparently this restaurant (The Pink House) is supposed to be really good and somewhere you have to go if you’re in Savannah. I wish we could have tried it out but we were trying to keep the trip on a reasonable budget. But it was gorgeous from the outside!

And then just photos of the gorgeous scenery (and spanish moss, of course)

Forsythe Park was amazing

A few pictures of our perfect little bed and breakfast, the Savannah Bed and Breakfast Inn. HIGHLY recommend it if you ever take a trip here. We loved staying there and the staff was so nice. Best part was they had resident cats!! Of course that’s only exciting to you if you love cats. Either way, awesome place. I forgot to take pictures of the front of the place 🙁

And just because I found this to be pretty hilarious, the two pictures Nathan took of me the whole trip when I handed him the camera.. and of course I have like a million of him. One of me fixing my shoe and the other where I obviously just wasn’t paying attention at all. Oh, boys.

And that’s our Savannah getaway in a nutshell!! I hope I didn’t overload you with pictures but it really just was a spectacular place and it’s even more beautiful in person. I hope that I gave you some good recommendations when/if you plan to visit! I know we will definitely be back.
